parlor study.

THE RESEARCH SHELF

Boring
material.

Interesting research about reading, remembering, and understanding.

What did the researchers actually find? What does it mean for your next study session? And what does Parlor do with it?

Bert’s parlor. A good book, a warm room, and Danny the Yorkie reminding him to take a break. Some concepts can wait.

Meet Bert and Danny

Bert the Book Beetle is Parlor Study’s original illustrated study companion. He reads, gets puzzled, tries again, and celebrates the moment an idea makes sense.

Danny the Yorkie is Bert’s loyal Yorkshire terrier and fellow fictional character. He asks for attention, naps while Bert thinks, and celebrates each “aha!” with a lick and a hug. Their cozy parlor is a reminder to make room for curiosity, company, and a break from the book.

Research, with the small print left in.

Each story links to its original source, explains what was tested, and keeps the finding separate from our interpretation. We describe what Parlor currently does and say where there is still a gap.

These papers are about learning. They are not trials of Parlor Study. Our exercises are practical suggestions, and AI feedback can make mistakes.
